Top 5: underrated 1d fics or authors; gratuitous hiddie pics/moments; non-1d fics for ppl who want to expand their fandom horizons

Wow, okay, this is a lot to unpack, but yeah, can do! And I’m doing it twice now, since I accidentally refreshed this page mid-answer, big sigh!!!

Underrated 1d fics or authors: I’d vote you and @kingsofeverything because you’re both so prolific (meaning I feel like you’re underrated because people take you for granted, which annnnnnnoys me). I also think @vondrostes is underrated because he writes AMAZING h/l fic, but he doesn’t do that pairing exclusively, so people get all pissy about it, which, dumb. To round out this category, I’ll go with two underrated fics: No Control (thegirlwthekittentattoo), a new h/l that I plan on yelling about tomorrow (I see you, rent anon), and call me anything you like, but my name is (@wishforwishes), an older not h/l fic that I think about thrice weekly.

The hids: i did a masterpost for Terran’s birthday in October, but since then, whoaaaaaaaa, have we all been blessed in this department (weeps in A cup), starting with something both mom and mam, leak the HQs, you cowards:

As for fics I’d rec to pull you into other fandoms, I’m still working on making the transition from my old faves that live on specific servers over to ao3 (for places like Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, X Files, etc.), so I’d go with my more recent go-to faves (a deep dive on the Witcher is coming soon, fwiw, but here’s non-Witcher stuff):

go out and (find a girl), hockey rpf, it’s all gender, it’s so good, and so many AMAZING ex-1d writers are in the hockey rpf fandom that it makes me want to find all of them

Diplomacy (Happens at Night), finnpoe, this pairing is the place all my fave TMFU writers went when the Force Awakens came out, and this fic is a new one that has an older writer returning, so I love it (plus it crams a million tropes in one place)

As Sweet as Blood Red Jam, cars universe, and yeah, phoenix is the pioneer in this fandom, all of her work is AMAZING, but this fic? Holy shitttttttttttttt, I die with how much it transcends not only this fandom but everything in any mlm pairing, the pathos, the emotion, you don’t need to know jack shit about this movie to fall in love

And me underneath, the man from uncle movie, I could rec so many TMFU fics, but this one, whew, it still takes my breath away, probably my fave?? Right up there anyway

Bright, stranger things, and I haven’t even begun to touch everything in the Stranger Things or Witcher fic worlds, but I trust Kim, plus this is just so beautiful, sigh
